Sennevoy Series started 8 years ago. I make small paintings on wooden panels of 6 x 3.5 inches (slightly smaller than postcards) that note and respond to the conditions of light and colour that occur in a brief period of time looking at an unremarkable tangled clump of trees on a ridge in the Burgundy district of France. The small panel paintings are an imprint of the time I have spent in receiving and recording . I engage with that particular moment and attempt to note with accuracy the colour and light that reflects time of day and time of year . I hope these small panel paintings stand alone as tangible evidence of my engagement but as a group of paintings might excite interest in their containing information that is accessible and common to all - the play of light, the change of colours , the differences in same times different years.
